Jeanne Elie-Joseph Rigaud was born in port au prince, Haiti in 1926. She grew up in a family of artists but her vocation was not revealed until late in life. She experienced with various subjects and mediums but became known for painting children and young girls. This topic symbolized the joy, the love, the freedom and hope of the generations of tomorrow. With their bare feet, these children are dressed modestly with vivid colors and carry enormous bouquet of tropical flowers. Always with their back, hand in the hand, they move towards a better future. She resides in Boca raton, Florida.
